PRICE – Byron E. Cook, 89, left the arms of his loving wife and five children on Sept. 16, 2009. Born Aug. 3, 1920 in Castle Gate to Ed and Lucy Cook. Married Lucie Howard 27 August 1947 in Panguitch.
Together they raised three girls and two boys. “BY” joined the US Army in 1943 during World War II honorably serving three years in the Pacific Theater. Upon discharge he gained employment at the Hiawatha U.S. Fuel Coal Mine local 6363 where he retired after 38 years. “BY” was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and a good game of “Blitz” with his family.
Survived by his wife Lucie; children, Connie (Lenord) Harding, Price, Robert (Sandy) Cook, Price, Bradley (Janice) Cook, Price, Kandi (Mike) Uffer, California, Debbie (Walter) Vickers, Illinois; sister, Dora Norton, Provo; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
In appreciation we would like to thank Castle Country Care Center, Dialysis Center, the Castleview nursing crew on duty Sept. 16, CNS nurse “Angie” and Dr. Etzel for everything they did during “BYS” illnesses.
“BY” will be missed by all who knew him, enjoyed his great humor, friendly smile and gentle ways.
