On Dec. 19 the Green River Lady Pirates traveled up to play the Tabiona Lady Tigers. The Lady Pirates were coming off a tough home loss against the Duchesne Lady Eagles two nights earlier and were hungry for a win in what they all know is a tough gym to win in.
The game proved to be a nail biter down to the end. After the first quarter the score was GR 12 and Tabiona 11. The two entered half time tied and after three quarters the the Pirates owned a three point lead.
The fourth quarter belonged to Jill Vetere, Sarah Swalberg and Courtney Carter. Sarah scored nine of her game high 24 points. Jill scored five of her season high 16 while Courtney scored three of her five points from the free throw line.
Megan Hatt was shut down in the fourth quarter due to foul trouble (eventually fouling out) but her 13 total points along with her ball skills and enthusiasm were critical in keeping the Lady Pirates in the game.
