Ted Chidester, age 74 passed away in St. George, Utah on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010. He was born Aug. 2, 1935 in Lehi, Utah to William P. Chidester and Margret Arnold. He married LaRay Johnson on Oct. 11, 1953 in Ely, Nev. Ted worked as a sales rep in the mining industry, and also drove truck. He enjoyed 4-wheeling on the desert, rock hunting, attending family reunions, and especially spending time with his family.
Ted is survived by his wife LaRay Chidester of St. George, his children: Betty Jo (John) Pennington of St. George, Ted (Chris) Chidester of Spring Creek, Nev., Teri (Jeff) Grange of Huntington, Tammie (Kyle) Christiansen of East Carbon, and Debbie Staley of Lyman, Wyo. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one sister and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one grandson.
A viewing was held on Friday Jan. 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home at 620 N. Main St. in Huntington, Utah. Services were held at the Heritage Funeral Home on Saturday Jan. 23, at 11 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to services.
Interment followed in the Huntington City Cemetery. Services were entrusted to the care of the Heritage Funeral Home in Huntington, Utah.
