"Marjorie Johnson Ward"

By By

HUNTINGTON-Marjorie Johnson Ward, age 92, our beloved mother, one “darn good” granny, awesome great and great-great grandma, aunt, and friend, rejoined her husband, Heber, on Feb. 28, 2010.
Marjorie came into this world with a big bang on July 24, 1917, in Huntington, Utah. She was welcomed by her parents, Alex and Hannah Gordon Johnson, and her two older brothers and five older sisters. Marjorie was always proud of her Pioneer Heritage.
She married her sweetheart, Heber Ward, in October 1933. She enjoyed a lifetime of love and laughter with her husband, Heber, and her family. She especially had a wonderful relationship with her sisters Rowena, Bernita, Aliena, Eva, and Ruth.
For many years she cooked lunch daily for her husband, sons, and grandsons. They enjoyed the time that they spent with her. She was always wanting to feed her grand and great-grandchildren, and they always said that Granny’s cooking was the best. Her and Grandpa’s motto was “there’s always a place at the table for one more!”
Marjorie is survived by her children, Heber Dennis and Rose Ward, Marjorie Diane Potter, Frankie Joe and Berta Ward, and Karen Ward (daughter-in-law), all of Huntington. She had 17 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandkids. She loved each one of them dearly and they loved her in return. She shared a special bond with her loving nieces Judie Cunha Mangum and Betty Lee Majors, as well as many more loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Heber; children, Deon, DeVon, and JoAnn; her parents, Alex and Hannah; brothers Clayton and Floyd, and sisters Rowena Black, Bernita Majors, Aliena Fillmore, Eva Majors, and Ruth Cunha.
We would like to express our deep appreciation to Dr. Glen Etzel and Dr. Daniel Monahan and staff at Castleview Hospital, and especially to all at the Park Dale Care Center that took such wonderful care of Granny.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Huntington LDS First and Fifth Ward Building (150 South 400 East, Huntington, Utah). A viewing for family and friends will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale and on Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Huntington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guestbook and share memories of Marjorie at www.fausettmortuary.com.
