Green River and Emery track at state meet

The 2010 high school track season came to a close here in Utah with all five classifications meeting at BYU for final meet of the season. In the 3-A class, Hurricane High won the boys meet while Park City won the girls meet. Cedar City High was second in both groups and was the overall winner when the two groups were combined.
For the boys, Hurricane finished with 95 points and Cedar scored 80 points. Delta High was the highest finisher from region 12. The Rabbits scored 44 points and finished sixth.
For the girls, Park City scored 105 points followed by Cedar with 81 points. Delta was again the highest finisher from the region. They finished fourth and scored 59 points.
In the combined scores, Cedar was first followed by Hurricane, Park City and Delta. Emery’s lone points in the state meet came from senior Nikki Rogers. Rogers finished sixth in the long jump with a jump off 15″10.5″. Rogers jump scored Emery three points.
In the previous week’s region meet, Richfield won the boys division and Delta won the girls division. After Richfield came Delta, Juab, Manti, Emery and North Sanpete in that order. After Delta for girls, came North Sanpete, Richfield, Manti, Juab and Emery in that order.
Here are those Spartans that placed for the boys team: 110 meter hurdles, Spencer Fehlberg fourth, Chet Funk fifth and Tyler Rowley sixth. Scott Jackson was fourth in the 400 meter run. Fehlberg was fourth in the 300 meter hurdles. The Emery boys won the sprint medley relay and finished fourth in the 4×100 relay.
Here are those Spartans that placed for the girls team; Blayr Jeffs in the 100 meter hurdles took fifth. Rogers took fifth in the 100 meter run. Rogers was third in the long jump and Whitney Withers was fourth in the shot put.
