GREEN RIVER-Robert Earl Wetherington, age 67, passed away July 30, 2010 in the comforts of the Veterans Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colo. where he was surrounded by many dear friends.
He was born April 8, 1943 in Price, Utah to J E Wetherington and Anna Jane Fisher and he always considered his hometown as Green River.
Married Jo Ann Sherrill of Green River on Nov. 11, 1972.
Bob was a proud and distinguished veteran who honorably served his country in U.S. Army. He shared a deep love for truck driving and was happiest when he was on the road hauling coal. He was a dedicated member of the teamsters and the United Mine Workers of America.
He admired and enjoyed collecting old cars. His true love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survived by his wife, Jo Ann Wetherington, Green River; sons, Derek Earl (Tristene) Wetherington, Green River, Branden Robert (Skylynn) Wetherington, Price; sisters, Pauline Tucker, Ellen Sanchez, Diane Schmidt, Barbara (Delbert) Hales, Pat Murray, Karen (Chris) Anderson, all of Price, Debbie (Frank) Schmidt, Kalama, Wash.; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, sons, J E Wetherington, Shane Dugdale and Gregg Hatfield; and granddaughter, Patches Nichole Dugdale.
Funeral service, Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, 11 a.m., Green River LDS Ward. Family will receive friends at the church Tuesday one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Elgin Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Utah Army National Guard.
