PRICE-Our loving father and grandfather, Richard G Jewkes, age 82, returned to Our Heavenly Father on Aug. 20, 2010 in Price while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Dec. 29, 1927 in Orangeville, Utah to Gardner Lee and Jennie Curtis Jewkes.
Richard was sealed to Thelma Mae Brinkerhoff for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Nov. 8, 1950; she preceded him in death on Feb. 12, 2010.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many capacities. He served in the Texas-Louisiana LDS Mission from 1948-1950. Richard enjoyed working alongside his wife and sweetheart at Jewkes Office Supply for 30 years. He enjoyed many activities with his family in the outdoors including; fishing, hunting, camping, 4-wheeling and motorcycling.
Richard is survived by his children, Richard (Debra) Jewkes, Salt Lake City, Utah, Robyn (Tom) Steele, Price, Utah, Steven (Natasha) Jewkes, Saratoga Springs, Utah, Maria (Randy) Ostler, Spanish Fork, Utah; daughter-in-law, Kathy Jewkes, Draper, Utah; brothers, Curtis Jewkes, West Jordan, Utah, Grant (Carole) Jewkes, Providence, Utah; sister, Anne (Vern) Lockhart, South Jordan, Utah; six grandchildren, Holli Stewart, Tiffany Montoya, Danae Dunn, Stan, Jacki and Kayli Jewkes; and 12 great-grandchildren, Alanna, Skylor, Aimee Stewart, Takayl Lambson, Canessa and Niki Montoya, Zoey and Colston Dunn, Teagon, Kamrie and Jada Jewkes, Makayla Shultz.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, son, Scott Jewkes; brother, Dale Jewkes; sister, Jenalee Butterfield; granddaughter, Lynnette Mae Jewkes; and great-grandson Calvin Stewart.
Funeral service, Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, 12 noon, Price North LDS Stake Center (449 North 100 East) Price. A viewing will be held at the Stake Center Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. Interment, Huntington City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Richard at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
