PRICE-Our beloved son, brother and longtime friend, Larry Shane Parkin passed away Aug. 16, 2010 in Price at the age of 40.
He was born in Moab, Utah on Oct. 10, 1969 to the loving parents of Ronald Perry and Marlene Jennifer Todd Parkin.
Shane was a longtime resident of Carbon County and a graduate of Carbon High School and the College of Eastern Utah. He shared a deep passion for mining and he enjoyed anything that had to do with the coal mining industry. After some health setbacks, Shane changed careers and began his studies in the medical field.
His family meant the world to him and he was always there for anyone in need. He enjoyed playing softball, riding 4-wheelers, fishing, hunting, and caring for his dog’s Zeus and Taya. Shane will be dearly missed, but he’ll remain in our hearts forever.
He is survived by his mother, Marlene Parkin, Kenilworth; brother, Robert Wayne Parkin, sister, Diane Michelle Parkin, both of Price.
Shane was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Parkin; and his beloved brother, David Andrew Parkin.
A memorial service for Shane will be held Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) Price. Family will receive friends at Mitchell’s Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. Online memories of Shane can be shared at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
