HELPER – Elvin Byrge, age 85, passed away on Sept. 17, 2010. He was born July 6, 1925 in Norma, Tenn. to William Riley and Florida McCloud Byrge. He entered the Air force when he was 17 years old. He married Beverly Haycock on his birthday July 6, 1945 in Price, Utah.
He was a coal miner amongst other various things. His family was very important to him and he had a gift of making everyone feel special. He loved being a member of the LDS church, the people, and his many callings. He also loved to go fishing-any time, anywhere.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; son, Bill; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Leola (Americo) Callor; and sister-in-law, Colleen Byrge.
Preceded in death by his parents; son, Tommy Byrge; grandson, Howard Byrge; brothers, Frank, John, and Chuck; and sister, Edith.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday Sept. 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Helper Stake Center (150 Ridgeway – Helper, Utah). Viewing will be Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010 from 6-7 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South – Price, Utah) and on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 from 10-10:40 a.m. prior to the service at the stake center. Interment will be in the Mt. View Cemetery in Helper, Utah. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
