The Emery High golf team this season was very young and inexperienced going into the season. With that said, the team has made great strides throughout the season as they have worked hard at getting better.
Last week, Emery hosted the other teams of region 12 at Millsite golf course and although they didn’t win, they shot their best scores of the season.
Coach Kevin Reynolds, “I felt like they played much better this week. We keep improving every week because the kids are trying really hard.”
Richfield won the golf tournament as they continue to be the best team in the region and was followed closely by Delta. Juab’s Brady Wellborn had the best score at 72 while Hunter Huntington had Emery’s best score at 89. McKoy Allred, McKlane Allred and Gage Bell followed Huntington in scoring for Emery. Chance Huntington and Andrew Terry also golfed in the meet. Reynolds was excited after the meet; “This was the first time all season that all four golfers have been under a hundred in scoring. They are playing better.”
The last region meet is Sept. 29 at Richfield.
