County honors Commissioner Kofford

Emery County held a luncheon in honor of Commissioner Gary Kofford for his eight years of service to the county. Commissioner Laurie Pitchforth presented a plaque of appreciation to Commissioner Kofford and a gift card to Cabelas which is his favorite store. Sheriff LaMar Guymon presented Commissioner Kofford with a plaque of appreciation from the Emery County Sheriff’s Office. Family, friends and other county officials and employees gathered to honor Commissioner Kofford and participate in a holiday lunch. A large poinsetta plant was also presented to Commissioner Kofford.
Commissioner Kofford has been involved in several projects for Emery County during his time in office.
Kofford has been active in improvements in law enforcement, Communications network/TV, Recreation and Roads. Commissioner Kofford has been active in keeping open access to our public lands and the public lands open to multiple use and helped with the completion of the Moore cut-off road.
Commissioner Kofford was instrumental in the development of Green River as an industrial area and making Emery County attractive to new business growth. Commissioner Kofford worked closely on the road to the new Lila Canyon mine. Commissioner Kofford has worked on the improvements to the Huntington Airport. Other important projects completed during Kofford’s tenure was the Emery County aquatic center, Children’s Justice center, Green River Senior Citizens Emery County food bank and the Emery County Care and Rehab remodel.
Commissioner Kofford said, “The employees of Emery County are the greatest people in the world. Thank you for the privilege of serving you.”
