CARBONVILLE- Our sweet wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend Darlene Christine Carlson Howard, age 80, passed away peacefully Dec. 27, 2010 at her home. She was born March 6, 1930 in Helper, Utah to Rudolph “Dutch” and Helen Wenifred Dowd Rynio. Later adopted by Charles Arthur and Anna Degn Carlson.
Married John Douglas Glasson who later passed away. Married Harvey Pete Howard her “hero” in 1966.
She was raised in Carbon County and graduated from Carbon High School. She was a creation like no other. When she was out and about she was everyone’s grandma and best friend. She was one of a kind and the sweetest lady you could ever meet.
With her words and smile she blessed everyone she came into contact with. She was always praying for everyone. Darlene loved sharing the word of the lord and her mission in life was to help others and put a smile on their face.
She enjoyed canning the fruits and vegetables grown in the garden by her hero Pete. Darlene enjoyed playing volleyball with the grandkids, “inni-i-over” she yelled as she played with them. She was their number one fan.
Darlene loved reminiscing about her greatest and most precious moments in life especially Spring Canyon Days. She loved her sweets and her Saturday morning breakfast with “Bebe”.
Words from Darlene to you… In the spiritual world failure has only one cause: lack of faith. Faith is the one condition on which all divine power can enter man and work through him. It is the sensitivity of man’s will yielded to and molded by the will of God.
Survived by her loving husband and hero, Harvey Pete Howard, Carbonville; daughter, Jenai Davis, Price; son John Michael (Edith) Howard, Ferron; siblings, Irene and Herm; brothers and sisters in law, James (Beverly) Howard; Doug (Karlene) Carter; grandchildren, Matthew, Heather, Daniel, Erica, Jonathan, Michelene; great grandson, Jaxton; many loving nieces, nephews, and a community of friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; sons, Matthew and Eric; siblings, Bob, Dora, Ray, and Alice.
