HELPER-Carrie Lucille Johns Reid, age 62, passed away Jan. 19, 2011 in Price.
She was born Oct. 2, 1948 in Meadville, Penn. to Everett H. Johns Sr. and Sara Snyder.
Married Alan Keith Reid Sr., Aug. 17, 1965 in Preston, Idaho, they later divorced.
Carrie always considered herself as a lifelong resident of Carbon County and over the years she made many special friendships while working in various stores in Helper. She was an avid supporter of the Helper Lions and Helper Little League Programs. She enjoyed camping, knitting, and her favorite pastime was working on any type of puzzles.
Carrie lived for her family and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved taking her grandchildren on picnics to the park and going on walks along the river. Carrie will always be remembered for her love, generosity and willingness to help others in need. She will be greatly missed by her family and a community of friends.
Survived by her three sons, Keith Reid Jr. of South Carolina, Kirk Reid Sr. (Shannon) of Atlanta, Ga., Kip Reid of Price; two sisters and two brothers, Diane (JoAnna) Averett, Goshen, Utah, Steve Johns, Draper, Mary (Jamie) Johns, Salt Lake City, John (Larraine) Johns, Helper; and her four loving grandchildren, Breanna, Tade, KJ and Maddie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Keith who passed away on Sept. 10, 1998.
Funeral service, Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, 10 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are welcome daily and may sign the guest book and share remembrances of Carrie at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
