Letters to the Editor

By Alfred Brock Wayne Mich.

Editor,
A television show on MTV that featured rewritten episodes from a television series in Great Britain is a very serious problem. “Skins” needs to be taken off the air. In my opinion the members of the Board of Viacom are pandering child pornography, encouraging childhood violence and drug use. Their abuse of children is an abuse of their access to public airwaves. I think it would be wise for national and local law enforcement to check on the treatment of the ‘actors’ and ‘actresses’. Some of the episodes were rewritten in order to avoid actual charges of child pornography. The fact that the stories are extracted from material that is clearly child pornography should make anyone concerned about what is happening. The program is targeted at teenagers yet has been rated as TV-MA – which indicates it may contain material unsuitable for children under 17. Why is something like ‘Skins’ being broadcast to our children?
