"Deanna Nannie Axelgard"

PRICE-Deanna R. Axelgard left us on a beautiful summer day, July 22, 2011 at IHC Hospital in Murray. She was born in Price, Utah to Richard and Ruth Sillitoe Rogers on May 29, 1940. Deanna married her sweetheart Michael Mick Axelgard, 53 years ago and he was by her side when she returned to the heavens above. She was also an incredible mom to their only daughter Michele; she was also the Mom and Nannie to many more. In fact when she and Mick returned from their honeymoon, they took care of his three little brothers. She was their big sister too. When little sister Julie came along she couldnt say Deanna, so that is how she got the name Nana, and then soon after that led to Nannie.
Deanna was extremely talented and could design, build or draw anything that was put in front of her, always with great excitement. Deanna owned and operated Interiors Unlimited in Price and later worked in Boise and Scottsdale as an interior decorator.
Later she worked at the City Market in Price as the non-foods manager. In November 1985, Michele had a son David Michael Mickie Johnson. Nannie devoted her life to her family.
In April of 1994, her first granddaughter was born. Mikala was a special baby who needed so much extra love and support. Nannie and Poppie always made sure that she and her big brother had everything that they could possibly want or need.
In April of 1996 our little Mikenzie was born. Michele and her three kids were her greatest accomplishments be it good or bad. She tried to make it to all of Mickies ballgames and rock concerts. Even with all of Mikalas trials and tribulations, she was the rock of the family.
Nannie tried to be at all of Mikenzies plays and dance programs. She was and always will be their biggest fan. Growing up Michele couldnt have asked for any more love and support. Nan was also blessed with many of her daughters and grandkids friends that she considered her own too.
Michele and the kids have lived with the two of them since Mickie was 2 years old. The family knows that Lil Mikala was waiting with her tiny little arms open, excitement and anticipation to see her Nannie again. It had to have been such a joyful time to see her Nannie again. Well remember all of the amazing and wonderful times we were blessed with. When looking at the sun or the moon and stars we will think of you Nannie; you have always been the glue that has kept our family together.
Nannie has left behind her loving family, husband, Mick; daughter, Michele; grandson, David Michael Mickie Johnson; granddaughter, Mikenzie Deanna Axelgard-Felice; Lil Dazzie dog, all of Price; sister, Darlene (Hale) Pickering, South Jordan; brothers-in-law, Wally (Leanna) Axelgard; Kevin (Bonnie) Axelgard; Scott Axelgard, all of Price; sister, Julie (Ron) Jarvis, Santiquin; many special nieces and nephews that she loved and adored with all her heart and soul.
Preceded in death by her parents, Richard Dick and Ruth Sillitoe Rogers; mother and father-in-law, Walter and June Axelgard; granddaughter, Mikala Deann Axelgard-Felice; niece, Jessica Axelgard.
Come help us celebrate her life at a funeral, Thursday, July 28, 2011, 11a.m. Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Mitchells. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome to share memories of Deanna online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
