PRICE-Our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother and dear friend, R. Jeff Miller, otherwise known by many as Mr. Pig Face Jones, kicked off Saturday morning, Sept. 3, 2011 in Price.
He was born April 17, 1946 in Price, Utah to Miles Merill and Tillie Belle Jeffs Miller. Jeff lived a full 65 years in which he touched the lives of many with his selfless nature, wry sense of humor, incredible intelligence and last but not least his epic mustache.
In 1966, he graduated from CEU with an associates degree. He then moved to Logan where he graduated from Utah State University with a masters degree in Speech Pathology/Audiology and a bachelor’s in Child Psychology. His career began with the Carbon County School District where he retired after 30 years. He also practiced private therapy and later worked for Castleview Hospital until his retirement in Aug. 2011.
Jeff married Nannette Marshall, March 18, 1967 in Price, Utah where they raised their three daughters and lived happily married for nearly 45 years.
He was an active member of the Price Elk’s Lodge where he received all state esquire, served as secretary for nearly 20 years, involved in the Boxing Club and displayed his legendary wit as a bartender. Jeff enjoyed sports, he played baseball from little league through college, where he was a relief pitcher. He was part of the community theatre at CEU where he both acted and assisted in the production of numerous plays.
Jeff’s passion first and foremost was his family, and along the way he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, music, reading and making people laugh. He was a master of practical jokes both at work and with his social life. His generosity and selfless spirit touched everybody who came in contact with him as he inexorably put himself second to everyone. He had a gift for writing which included his poetry being published in a handful of books, countless talks, and numerous tributes he wrote and presented in honor of many.
