Emery Golfers participate in State Tournament

The 2-A Utah State Golf tournament was held on Oct. 3-4 at the Palisades State Golf course south of Manti. Beaver won the title this year with a score of 629 followed by Grand at 663. Emery High finished ninth with a score of 745.
McKoy Allred was the top finisher for Emery. McKoy shot a 175 over the two days and finished in 28th place. McKlane Allred shot a 182 and finished in 39th place. Hunter Huntington shot a 188 and finished in 44th place. Kalen Lofley, Brandon Oliver along with Jordan Fuller were the other three golfers for the Spartans in the two-day affair.
Region 15, of which Emery is a member, had Grand finish second, Richfield finish third and South Sevier finish fourth as the region did really well at the tournament. Emery was consistently fourth in region golf meets this season behind those three. San Juan finished fifth in region action and did not qualify for the state meet.
