Invites you to learn about Icelandic immigrants who settled in Emery County
Our guest speaker will be Prof. Fred E. Woods, who is writing a book about Icelandic immigrants in Utah. He will be speaking especially about those who settled in Emery County. Oct. 25 at the Museum of the San Rafael at 7 p.m.
Dow’s Karate Spook Alley
Brianne Mason Simmons fundraiser
From Oct. 25- Halloween night Dow’s Karate is hosting its annual Spook Alley from 6-10 p.m. in Ferron on Main Street. Admission price is a can of food for the annual food drive for the Emery County food bank. All donations are welcome.
A fundraiser will be held for a young Lawrence mother, Brianne Mason Simmons who has cancer. It will be on Nov. 2 at the Canyon View Junior High from 6-8 p.m. Dinner and a raffle as well as a silent auction and much more. Raffle prizes include a Browning x-bolt rifle, Range Creek tour for two, and much more. Raffle tickets are available now at Castle Valley Dental Specialists, Magnusons Lumber and Ace Hardware. Jr. Jazz Sign-Ups

Emery County Teams At State
The Green River volleyball team will play Intermountain Christian or Concordia at 12:30 p.m. on Friday at UVU in Orem at the state tournament. Emery High volleyball will play Enterprise on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at UVU at the state tourney in Orem. The Emery High football team will play in Manti at 7 p.m. in state playoff action.
