WELLINGTON-Cassidy John McCourt, age 21, passed away Oct. 29, 2011 from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
He was born Aug. 14, 1990 in Olympia, Wash. to Franklin Ray McCourt Jr. and Glenna Brundage.
Cassidy shared a special love for rodeo, he enjoyed bull riding, bareback, and saddle bronc riding or just about anything else that would give his mother a heart attack. He enjoyed the outdoors and looked forward to riding Jet Ski’s and wakeboarding with his family in Lake Powell. His mischievous smile warmed the hearts of all and his quick wit kept everyone on edge. He was very generous and loved nothing more than making people laugh.
At the time of his passing he was employed at Joy Mining and Machinery where he touched the hearts of all. He was always looking for ways to help others and wished nothing in return. Cassidy was known for his big heart and during his final hours, he was able to share the gift of life with others. His gift will live on through them and his memory will be cherished forever. The only gift more precious than this, were the moments he shared with his girls. “We love you Cassidy, and you’ll be with us forever.”
On May 20, 2010, Cassidy and Ciara Gordon where blessed with beautiful twin daughters, Ashtan Jane and Harley Jean who were the lights of their lives. He’s also survived by his mother Glenna Jean McCourt Holley, Wellington; sisters, Brandy Lynn (Dustin) Duncan, Elmo, Jamie Rae McCourt and Zachary Phelps, West Valley, Stephanie Jaylene McCourt, Price; brother, Daryl Kerrick, Price; grandparents, Gerald and Lorene Brundage, Fruita, Colo.; John and Louise Kneib, Arizona; sisters, Hannah Wright, Price, Amy (Josh) Sandoval, West Jordan, Amanda and Michelle Holley, Price; aunts and uncles, Gerald (Melissa) Brundage, Grand Junction, Colo., Shelly (Matt) Mechling, Fruita, Colo., Raelynn McCourt, Nevada, Kerry Tharp, Moab, Bobby Appleby, Price; nieces and nephew, Taylor Lynn, Kylee Rae, and Camryn Dustin Duncan, all of Elmo; and his “Aunt Lisa” Olsen of Wellington; and his true love, Ciara Gordon of Price; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends that will miss him very much.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Franklin Ray McCourt Jr., and cousin, Braxton Leland Brundage.
Memorial service, Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) Price. Friends were welcome at Mitchell’s Saturday one hour prior to services.
