Two teenage boys were transported to Castleview Hospital Monday afternoon after their car was struck by an oncoming pickup truck at the intersection of SR-29 and Spartan Center Street in Castle Dale at approximately 5:35 p.m.
The two teenage boys were waiting at the stop sign and reportedly thought that an oncoming pickup truck was making a right hand turn off of SR-29. The car pulled in front of the pickup truck, which struck the car, sending it across the road to rest between a tree and a power pole.
The driver of the pickup truck, who reportedly only received minor injuries from the collision, had to be extricated from the vehicle with the jaws of life device by the Castle Dale Fire Department. The injuries of the boys were reportedly more severe and were transported by ambulance to Castleview Hospital.
Traffic was stopped while an abundance of broken glass and other debris was cleaned up. The Acura was a total loss in the accident.
