Emery swim team does well at Carbon meet

Emery High participated in a five-team swim meet sponsored by Carbon High School at the Price City pool last week. Although the boy’s team finished third and the girl’s team finished third, as a combined team Emery finished fourth.
The Richfield girls scored 531 points to win the event. Carbon was second with 457 points and Emery was third with 295 points. Spanish Fork scored 285 and Delta scored 169.
Spanish Fork’s boys snuck by Richfield 420-415 to take the boy’s crown. Emery scored 407 as they came really close to grabbing the win. Carbon finished at 285 and Delta was last with 136 points.
The Emery boy’s team had several winners. Weston Allinson won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:30.32 to win by more than 4.5 seconds. Eli Oliverson won the 100-yard free with a time of 54.49.
Here are the finishes for the Emery girl swimmers in the top 10 in the individual events. In event 3, the 200-yard free, Krista Wright finished ninth. In event 5, the 200-yard IM, Laryssa Guymon finished fourth. In event 7, the 50-yard free, Jessica Guymon finished fourth.In event 9, the 100-yard fly, Melece Pulli finished fifth. In event 11, the 100-yard free, Tanner Petersen finished third. In event 17, the 100-yard backstroke, Petersen finished fourth. In event 19, the 100-yard breaststroke, Laryssa Guymon was second, Jessica Guymon was fourth, Morgan Curtis was seventh and Melece Pulli was 10th.
The following boys placed in the meet. In event 4, the 200-yard freestyle, Tyler Rowley was third, Colton Clement was fifth and Rex Stowe was 10th. In event 8, the 50-yard freestyle, Spencer Fauver was third, Tyler Pulli was sixth, Justan Potter was eighth and McKade Hansen was 10th.
In event 10, the 100-yard fly, Clement was second and Connor Benson was eighth. In event 12, the 100-yard freestyle, Fauver finished sixth and Benson finished 10th. In event 14, the 500-yard freestyle, Rowley finished second. In event 18, the 100-yard backstroke, Allinson finished third. In the final individual event, the 100-yard breaststroke, Oliverson finished second, Potter finished ninth and Pulli finished 10th.
In the relays for the girls, Emery finished third in the 200-yard medley and eighth. The first team consisted of Petersen, Guymon, Guymon and Chyanne Carter. The second team consisted of Gentry Guymon, Savanha Hall, Shantel Sitterud and Judy Boyer. In the 200-yard freestyle, Emery finished seventh with a team of Pulli, Hall, Trish Greenburg and Curtis.
In the final girls relay, Emery finished fifth in the 400-yard free with a team of Guymon, Guymon, Petersen and Carter.
The boys relay in the 200-yard medley finished third with a team of Rowley, Oliverson, Allinson and Fauver. The boys finished third in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a team of Pulli, Kayden Parkins, Hansen and Potter.
In the final event of the meet, the 400-yard freestyle relay, Emery finished second. This team consisted of Rowley, Allinson, Fauver and Oliverson.
