Last year at this time, Taylor Mann was just starting out on the road of leading her Emery High basketball team to the 3-A state title. Mann went on to be named to the all-state basketball teams and was named the 3-A MVP for the year.
This year, Mann is continuing her basketball career at BYU-Hawaii in Laie, Hawaii. The 2011-12 basketball season for the Seasiders started in November with a game against Lewis University at the Oahu Classic in Honolulu.
In that game, Taylor scored 12 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Mann also blocked nine shots in game. This is a record at BYU-Hawaii with the previous record being four blocked shots in a game.
Mann, in BYU’s fourth game of the season, led the Seasiders against University of Arizona with 13 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, two blocked shots and a steal.
