Pirates win three games at home this week

Justin Johnson averaged 41 points per game last week as the Green River Pirates won three straight region 19 games. Green River now has a 10-4 season record and leads the region with a 4-0 record. Johnson is the leading scorer in the state with a 34 point per game average. Green River defeated Monticello 74-47 in the first of three home games on Tuesday. On Friday, Green River defeated Monument Valley by the score of 90-53 and the Pirates closed out the week by defeating Navajo Mountain 96-24.
Green River averaged 84 points per game last week.
Johnson scored 36 points on Tuesday, 42 points on Friday and 45 points on Saturday. Johnson also had 14 rebounds against Monticello and 21 rebounds against Monument Valley. Stats against Navajo Mountain were not available.
Also scoring against Monticello were Erick Mendez with 18 points, Spencer Marshall with seven points, Adrian Escalante with six points, Nick Corrigan with four points and TJ Hughes with three points. Escalante led the team with nine assists while Mendez had eight rebounds.
Also scoring against Monument Valley were Mendez with 17 points, Escalante with 10 points, Marshall with seven points, Corrigan with three points and Hughes with two points. Off the bench, Corbin Mecham scored four points, Marty Spadafora scored three points and Jordan Olsen scored two points.
Also scoring against Navajo Mountain were Corrigan with 12 points, Hughes with 10 points, Marshall with eight points, Escalante with six points and Mendez with four points. Chance Pfander and Colton Davis each scored four points, Tony Dominguez scored two points and Mecham scored one point.
Green River only plays one game this week, a Friday night game at Whitehorse.
