"This dead cow was dumped on private property near Emery."

Illegal dumping on property near Emery has the owners very concerned. Property owners are Grant and Kathy Jenkins of Ferron. “We bought this property a few years back and cleaned it all up. This used to be the Emery Town dumping area. We have had horses, six calves, cows and now this other dead cow dumped on our property. We think it’s very rude to have people dumping on our property. The brand inspector is coming to look a the cow to determine the owner.”
Emery County Sheriff Greg Funk said it is illegal to dump dead animals on other people’s property. Trespassing as well as illegal dumping charges could result from an illegal dumping. The Emery County landfill has a dead animal pit and he encourages everyone with a dead animal to dispose of it at the county landfill. It may be further to travel, but it will save someone else the headache of cleaning up dead animals off their property.
