ORANGEVILLE-Jean J. Curtis, age 79, passed away May 22, 2012 in Provo, Utah surrounded by her family. Jean was born May 11, 1933 in Price, Utah to Byron and Udella Petersen Johansen. She married Wallace “Rohmer” Curtis Jan.9, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nev. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
Jean was a member of the LDS Church. Serving others was very important to her and something she enjoyed doing. She loved to spend time with her family. Jean will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Rohmer; children: Danny (Sandy) Curtis, Jeannie (Stuart) Jensen, Donna (Greg) LeRoy, Roma (Craig) Brotherson, and Kim (Robyn) Curtis; daughter-in-law, Marsha Curtis; sisters: Ina Lee Magnuson, Kaye (Ray) Paoli, and Sunny (Chris) Nielsen; sister-in-law, Julie Pizzuto; 19 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bennie Ray Curtis; brother, Kirk Johansen; and sisters, Patricia Brinkerhoff Fenn and Zora Fielder.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 25, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Orangeville LDS Third Ward Chapel (165 West 800 North, Castle Dale). There was a visitation Thursday, May 24 from 6-7 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (720 North Center Street, Castle Dale) and on Friday from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Orangeville City Cemetery.
