Accidents in county

By PATSY STODDARD Editor

On July 23 at approximately 5 p.m. in the construction zone by Clawson there was an accident involving a motorhome and a bellydump Nielson Construction truck.
Apparently the motorhome ran into the back of the truck while it was stopped by the flagger at the construction zone. The couple in the motorhome was from St. George and were coming to the area to see the Castle Valley Pageant. The man and lady were taken to the Castleview Hospital with injuries. The driver of the truck was uninjured. There was minor damage to the back of the truck, but the motorhome sustained extensive damage to the front end and also a pull along car was damaged.
On July 26 at approximately 9:30 a.m. a man driving a car apparently fell asleep at the wheel and hit two parked cars along the Huntington Main Street. He was traveling southbound and the two cars were parked pointing north along the Wards 4×4 auto parts shop. The parked vehicles were unoccupied at the time they were hit by the southbound vehicle.
The vehicle of the man came to rest just feet from the Wards building. The car also hit the flower pots in front of the building. One of the vehicles that was hit came to rest in the northbound lane of traffic blocking both lanes. The Emery County Sheriff’s Office responded to take the report and to control the traffic at the scene.
