By By

Orangeville Utah – George Terry Bell, 85, passed away at home surrounded by his family on July 30, 2013. He was born May 29, 1928 in Orangeville, Utah. He was the son of Harold and Fay Stilson Bell. He married Ann Snow Bell on November 23, 1949, in the Manti LDS Temple. He served in the Navy during World War II. He grew up in Orangeville, built their home and has lived there for the past 65 years.
He worked as a coal miner most of his life and became the mine manager. He enjoyed the work and the people he worked with. He believed in hard work and was a very hard worker himself. Fishing was his passion. He also liked camping, hunting, and spending time with his family. He loved to do carpentry and made some very beautiful things, such as toy trucks, rocking horses, cradles, beds and many other crafts for Ann to paint.
He served in many capacities in the LDS church and had a strong testimony of the gospel. He and his wife served an LDS mission in Ketchikan, Alaska from 1993-1994. They also worked many years in the Manti Temple as ordinance workers.
He was a great example of love, faith and compassion to all his family members. His greatest blessings were his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was great for a laugh. He joked with everyone he knew, and everyone loved that about him. He loved to watch Westerns. One of his greatest loves was ice cream and candy.
The family would like to express their special thanks to Symbii Hospice Care, Heidi Tuttle Cubel, and Heather Sundstrom, for their wonderful love and support. Also thanks to Jack Butler for his time in helping take care of George and all others who helped with nursing care.
He is survived by his children: Randy and LeAnn (Orangeville), Rue and Charlene (Orangeville), Michelle and Steve Scovill (Castle Dale), Marvin and Ardyth (Cleveland), Terry and Amy (Orangeville), Jan and Chris Olsen (Orangeville).
