Helen Bohleen-Wright, 83 passed away in her sleep, on Nov. 21, 2013 in Kihei Hawaii.
Born July 1, 2013 in Ferron Utah, Helen Lila Bohleen was the second of three girls born to Anna Rasmussen and John Leland Bohleen. Helen and her sisters, Doris and Pat were raised and attended school in Emery County where Helen was given the nickname Slug after she knocked a would be suitor to the ground who tried to steal a kiss.
Helen married Lyle O. Wright on Oct. 17, 1947. Lyle and Helen had three children. Barry, Shari and Kevin; she has six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Helen lived in Utah, California, Idaho, Alaska and Hawaii, however, always considered Utah as her home.
Helen’s interest included collecting antiques, and a passion for painting; she was a talented self-taught artist. For her life’s work Helen was a licensed hypnotherapist and found fulfillment in helping others.
Helen was known for her homemade cinnamon rolls, oyster crackers, Ovaltine, tomato soup and colorful adjectives. She shared a mutual appreciation with her grandchildren who affectionately called her gram cracker; her grandchildren always thought it was “way cool” to have a grandma who could effortlessly bake bread, fix a bad haircut, remove your fears and swear.
Family and friends are welcome to gather together to share untold stories and lessons learned from Helen at the home of Henry and Hilda Porter; 2162 E. Borg Drive in Sandy Utah on Saturday Dec. 14 at 12 noon.
