Elmo grand marshals for Fair Days/Horse and Buggy Days

"Erma and Duane Jones will be the grand marshals for Elmo and will also ride in the Emery County Fair Parade."

Elmo’s Grand Marshal’s for 2014 are Duane and Erma Jones.
Duane was born in Salt Lake City and came to Elmo at age 9 to live with his grandparents Frank and Mary Jones.
Erma was born in Cleveland, Utah.
They have lived in Elmo as a couple since 1949.
In fact they just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
They are proud parents of four boys and two girls, and grandparents of 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren with three more on their way.
Duane worked at Tri State Lumber in Price, worked as a general contractor for his father and worked in the coal mines.
Erma worked for Korets of California, the Seventies Book Store and as custodian for Elmo Ward.
Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints Church, they have held many positions such as ordinance workers at the Manti Temple, group leader in the High Priests and visiting teacher for 62 years.
Duane and Erma helped organize the Blue Ridge Riding Club and participated in the rerun of the Pony Express in 1960.
Duane served on the Elmo Town Board as councilman and Mayor for over 20 years.
He was on the committee that formed North Emery Water Users to bring clean, healthy drinking water to Elmo.
Duane is an accomplished wood worker, mason, and gardener.
Erma has shared her talents of quilt and afghan making with many friends and family.
After retirement they joined the Buckhorn Travelers Chapter of Good Sam RV Club, visiting Alaska, Mexico and many states in the United States.
They were members for 15 years.
