CLEVELAND-Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and daughter, Mickie Lyle Nelson Carter, age 75, passed away peacefully at home Aug. 20, 2014 while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Aug. 5, 1939 in Cleveland, Utah to Newel Henry Nelson and Madge Tucker Nelson. On April 4, 1955 she married the love of her life, Clifton L. Carter in Cleveland, Utah.
Mickie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She worked for Cleveland Elementary as a Lunch Lady for over two years. Mickie had a love of books and worked for Cleveland Library and enjoyed working with the public for 32 wonderful years.
Survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Clifton L. Carter, Cleveland; two daughters, Vickie (Chad) Hansen-Cleveland and Robin Wilson-Price; one son, Chris (Tina) Carter-Cleveland; mother, Madge Tucker Nelson; brother, Lynn (Deloris) Nelson, sister, Flora (Richard) Motte; mother, 10 grandchildren, Heidi, Hank, Lisa, Lesley, Heather, Nick, Natalie, Chyanne, Kaitlyn and Sydney; 13 great-grandchildren, Ashlee, Austin, Aspen, Darrin, Kaelee, Layce, Daezey, Shaley, Jerzee, Shaylynn, Quentin, Autumn and Avery; many loving sister and brother in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by grandparents; father, Newel Nelson; sibling, Berta; and Uncle, Bud Nelson.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Cleveland LDS Chapel. A viewing was held Friday evening at the church from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment in the Cleveland Town Cemetery.
