It’s time for Green River melons. The melons came into season about the middle of July and will continue strong until the plants are frozen.
Tina and Dean Carlson from Roy stopped at the Vetere’s melon stand along Main Street in Green River.
Tina said, “I’ve always wanted to stop here. We just got married on Saturday and spent a few days in Moab. It’s been one of my bucket list items to stop here and get melon. So, we didn’t have time to stop on the way down, but now we’re on our way home we just had to stop and try the melon.”
June Adams was working at the stand and took the time to make sure the Carlsons felt welcome and tried all the samples for each type of melon so they could choose what kinds to take home.
The annual Melon Days celebration will take place on Sept. 19-20.
