Castle Dale DUP will begin their new season on Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. in the Castle Dale Senior Citizens Center. There a lot of fun lessons for this new season so plan on attending. Lunch will be served. Members are reminded it’s time to bring their dues.

Goblin Valley State Park
Join us at 7 p.m. on Sept. 5 to learn basic desert survival skills including finding shelter, warmth, water and food. Meet at the amphitheater.
Join us at 5 p.m. on Sept. 6 for a short hike to the goblin that was toppled in 2013 by a park visitor. We will discuss area geology and Leave No Trace practices.
Hike is .75-miles with some uneven terrain. Bring water and hiking shoes and meet the observation point. For more info call, 435-275-4584.

Speech and Hearing Screening
Emery School District
conducts annual speech and hearing screening to identify students who might need further evaluation of their speech or hearing. Students who fail the initial hearing screening will be given a re-test in three to four weeks. Screening is scheduled with the schools involved and takes place anytime during the school year. District Speech-Language Pathologists administer the tests. All district preschool, kindergarten, 1st grade, new students and any referrals will be screened for hearing.
Pre-kindergarten students will be screened during kindergarten registration and 3rd grade students will be screened for speech only.
You must tell your school’s secretary if you do NOT want your child to receive speech or hearing screening tests.
