Orangeville Library with a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act and administered by the Utah State Library Division, under the Utah Department of Heritage and Arts was able to purchase 41 new Young Adult books.
The library held a reading program on July 30 for kids ages 10 – 18. They were asked to read for a half an hour at the library and then write what they thought the ending of the book would be. They were then encouraged to take the book home and finish it, write what the ending was, and rate the book.
For doing this they got to put in for a chance to win a Kindle that was purchased with a donation from Orangeville City.
On Aug. 14 at the regular Orangeville City Council meeting, the Mayor was asked to draw the winner from the tickets. The winner was Braden Howard who had read seven books in that two week period. Congratulations to Braden and a big thank you to the Utah State Library for the grant and Orangeville City for the donation.
