GREEN RIVER – Mac Arthur Zwahlen, age 75, passed away Nov. 7, 2014. Mac was born Dec. 5, 1938 in Manti, Utah to Albert and Ione McArthur Zwahlen. He married Caroline Smith in 1962 in the Manti LDS Temple. They later divorced. He then married Jackie Brown, who has since passed away.
Mac was raised in Manti and graduated from Manti High School. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed working with his hands by carving walking sticks and various figures. He also liked deer hunting, fishing, camping, and just being in the outdoors. He will be remembered as a “Big Gentle Giant”.
Mac is survived by his children: Phillip (Julie) Zwahlen, Debbie (Rick) Gainsforth, Susan (Bob) Hamberline, and Bob Brown; 17 grandchildren; and siblings: LaRue Carlson of Sandy and Brent (LaDawn) Zwahlen of Provo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jackie; siblings, Gwen Fish and Phillip Zwahlen; and brother-in-law, Curt Carlson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Green River LDS Church. There will be a viewing that morning from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Interment will be in the Elgin Cemetery in Green River. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Mac at www.fausettmortuary.com.
