Emery Swim team dominates Delta and Millard

The Emery High Spartan swim teams continued their season last week as they hosted Delta and Millard High Schools at the Emery Aquatic Center last week. The Spartans thumped their opponents in the pool. The Emery girls won by scoring 193 points to Delta’s 42. The Emery boy’s scored 154 points with the Rabbits scoring 59 points and Millard scoring 16 points.
The strength of the Emery teams is the depth of the rosters. The girls had 16 different swimmers that scored points for the team while the boys had 15 different swimmers that scored.
The two Emery teams won each of the three relays that they swim each meet and then the girls had a pair of duo winners and three other girls that won one event. The boy’s team had three individual winners out of the eight different individual events.
Winning for the girls were Laryssa Guymon in both the 500-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke and Madi Allinson in the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard breaststroke. Also winning a race were Paytn Jeffs in the 50-yard freestyle, Kaitlyn Carter in the 200-yard IM and Laci Hulse in the 100-yard freestyle.
Individual winners for the boy’s team were Devin Wilson in the 50-yard freestyle, Kelven Childs in the 100-yard butterfly and Levi Jensen in the 100-yard breaststroke.
The girl’s winning relay teams were Madi Allinson, Kaitlyn Sailing, Laryssa Guymon and Chyanne Carter in the 200-yard medley, Shaylynn Rowley, Vivian Koo, Valerie Chynoweth and Laci in the 200-yard freestyle and Allinson, Kaitlyn and Chyanne Carter and Guymon in the 400-yard freestyle.
The boy’s winning relay team members were Devin Wilson, Kelven Childs, Levi Jensen and Nate Gilbert in the 200-yard medley, Kayden Parkins, Garrett and Alex Stilson and Daryl Guymon in the 200-yard freestyle. In the final race of the day, Parkins, Jensen, Wilson and Gilbert won the 400-yard freestyle.
The relay team of Vivian Koo, Jeffs, Erin Oliverson and Krista Wright finished second in the 200-yard medley while the team consisting of Valerie Chynoweth, Tarryn Parkins, Kaitlyn Carter and Kaitlyn Gilson finished in third place. The team of Gilson, Laura Burke, Jasmine Frederick and Rowley finished second in the 400-yard freestyle.
The relay team of Zac Fauver, Alex Stilson, Ethan Lemon and Daryl Guymon finished second in the 400-yard freestyle while the team of Taigon Pulli, Lemon, Fauver and Tyeray Migliori finished third in the 200-yard medley.
Girls that placed in the 200-yard free, event 3, were Parkins, Rowley, Koo and Gilson that finished second through fifth.
In event 5, the 200-yard IM, Sailing finished second, C Carter third and Laci fourth.
In event 7, the 50-yard free, Wright was second with Gilson fifth. In event 9, the 100-yard butterfly, Parkins was second.
In event 11, the 100-yard free, Frederick was second with Burke third. In race 13, the 500-yard free, Oliverson was second with Chynoweth third. In the 100-yard backstroke, race 17, Koo was third, Sailing was fourth and Frederick was fifth. In the final individual race of the day, the 100-yard breaststroke, Chyanne Carter was second, Kaitlyn Carter was third and Krista Wright was fourth.
In the boys events the following swimmers placed. In race 4, the 200-yard free, Parkins finished second, Lemon was fourth and Alex Stilson fifth. In race number 6, the 200-yard IM, Guymon was second, Gilbert was third Garret Stilson was fourth and Pulli was fifth.
In race 8, the 50-yard free, Jensen was second, Fauver fourth and Fehlberg fifth. In the 100-yard free, race 12, Wilson was third, Allen Durrant was fourth and Malone Moss was fifth. In the 500-yard free, race 14, Gilbert was second with Migliori third.
In race 18, the 100-yard backstroke, Lemon was third, Parkins was fourth, Guymon was fifth and Childs was seventh.
In the final boy’s race, the 100-yard breaststroke, Fauver was third, Alex Stilson was fourth, and Garret Stilson was fifth.
