Senior Dillon Wilstead cracked the Emery High starting line-up midway through his sophomore season because he wasn’t afraid to shoot or take the ball to the hoop or basically anything, Wilstead only played one way and that way was all-out. Dillon led his high school team in scoring for three straight seasons and finished this season with a 14.7 scoring average, a 2.8 rebounding average, a 3.8 assist average and a 1.5 steal average and his team finished second in the recently completed state tournament.
Wilstead was just named by the Deseret News as the 2-A MVP for this season. Senior Tyson Roper was named second team All-State and Senior Tai Justice was named 3rd team All-State. Roper averaged 10.6 points per game and Justice 9.3.
Wilstead was Co-MVP of Region 15 this season along with Fisher Anderson of North Sevier. Tyson and Tai each made the All-Region 15 team.
Senior Bailey Rasmussen of the Emery Lady Spartans is Co-MVP of region 15 along with Payton Torgerson of North Sevier and Kassie Mecham of South Sevier. Ashton Bell made the All-Region 15 team.
Coach Todd Jeffs had this to say about Dillon, “He has a lot of energy and a lot of passion for the game, he is real competitive.” Wilstead and this entire senior class will be missed, both boys and girls.
