"Mark DeBry at bat for Emery. He hit a double in the game against South Sevier for the only extra base hit in that game."

Last week, the Emery baseball team traveled to Monroe to face the South Sevier Rams for the second time within the week and for the second straight time won a close game. Emery scored a single run in the second inning, two more in the sixth inning and a final run in the top of the seventh before the Spartans gave up two runs in the bottom of that final inning to make the game close.
Ridge Nielson picked up the win for Emery. Mark Debry had a double in the game, the only extra base hit by either team. Both teams had four total hits and both teams committed a single error. Emery just took advantage of what was given to them better than the Rams did. Emery picked up the win 4-2.
Emery then traveled to Uintah for a non-league game and the 3-A team defeated the Spartans for the second time this season. This time by the score of 14-1. Tyson Roper picked up the loss on the mound and Dillon Wilstead and Ethan Tuttle each had a double in the game. Uintah’s batters had five doubles and a homerun on the day.
Emery returns to action after the spring break this Tuesday as they host Monticello in a region contest and then the Spartans host Carbon Wednesday in another non-league game. Emery will close out the week on Friday as they host San Juan.
