Wilford Ray Nielson Born June 22, 1934 to Soren and Ruth Nielson in Huntington Utah, passed away in the presence of loving family on Tuesday April 21, 2015.
Wilford was born and raised in Hunington Utah, where he attended and graduated from North Emery High school in 1953. Years later he met the love of his life, Foresta Gilson, and they were married June 4, 1960. Wilford worked for the Utah State Parks and Recreation as well as a deputy sheriff. He then moved with his family from the Dutch John area to Heber City, Utah. While living in Heber the family purchased and ran Country Estates Mobile Home Park. Wilford also worked for Rocky Mountain Helicopters where he eventually retired. Following retirement Wilford and his wife accepted a call to serve for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Florida Tallahassee Mission.
Wilford loved to work on cars, he had been a mechanic from a young age. He loved to tinker in his shop with anything that he could find. Wilford was also a skilled carpenter and built many beautiful furniture pieces. He loved the lord and loved his family and worked hard his whole life to make them all proud.
Wilford is preceded in death by four of his children; Myra Lynn, Ray Levi, Wilford Dumayne, and Barry Kay, as well as his granddaughter Misty LaDean Brisk. He is survived by two of his children; Diane Sue Bonner, and Randy Allen Nielson, his wife Foresta Nielson, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 10 a.m. in the Heber East LDS Stake Center, 2395 South Mill Road (1200 East), Heber City, Utah. Family and friends were invited to visit with the family on Saturday from 9 – 9:45 a.m. prior to the services at the LDS Church. Graveside services followed in the Huntington City Cemetery, 400 W. Hwy 31, Huntington, Utah, at 3 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinhoopes.com.
