CASTLE DALE- Merleene Pilling Senechal Anderson, age 83, passed away August 7, 2015 at her home while surrounded by all of her children.
She was born Sept. 8, 1931 in Wellington, Utah to Clarence and Laura Grundvig Pilling. Married John Henry Senechal, April 23, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nev.; he died December 16, 1963. Married Ken Anderson, Jan. 14, 1967 in Price, Utah; he died Nov. 27, 1990.
Merleene was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Castle Dale First Ward. She loved quilting, the outdoors, hunting, dancing and collecting Native American memorabilia. But most of all, she loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Merleene was a wonderful and kind woman with a loving heart. She welcomed everyone with open arms and a loving smile.
She is survived by her children, Lorene (Neil) Warrick, Ginger (Steve) Allred, Ann (Kirk) Elliott, Joni Kay Gardner, Ken (Ivy) Anderson, and Delana (Victor) Shaw; brother, Douglas (Carol) Pilling; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, husbands, John Henry Senechal and Ken Anderson; brothers, Dan and Dale Pilling; and a sister, Kathrine Foster.
Funeral service, Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, 10:30 a.m., at the Castle Dale Stake Center. Family will receive friends at the church Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m. Graveside service will follow at the Price City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Merleene at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
