A ribbon cutting was held at the Lakeview Diner at the Millsite Golf Course. Jamie Murdoch with help from her daughters has opened the business. The hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. They serve lunch all day and add dinner items to the menu after 5 p.m.
Menu items include: salads, burgers, chicken sandwiches, French dip, fish sandwiches, chicken baskets, grilled cheese, corn dogs and much more. They offer a nightly dinner special and a lunch special with items not regularly on the menu.
Brittnee Murdoch said one popular item is their Ortega Burger featuring hot peppers on a cheeseburger. One recent dinner special was baked tilapia with rice. Other dinner items include the chicken fried steak, shrimp dinner, chicken and fish dinner. Salads include caesar, chicken and garden. Dinners come with a choice of potato, side of vegetables and a roll.
Jamie said they do take out orders and are available for catering and you can book your party at the restaurant. They don’t know yet if they will remain open after the golf season, but they will stay open as long as they are busy throughout the fall.
Jamie’s daughters Shelbee, Brittnee and Laycee help out at the restaurant. Some of their cousins including Lisa Taylor, Braiden and Bailey Bishop help out with the restaurant, too. Tammy Duncan is also one of the employees.
Jamie encourages everyone to come up and try out the restaurant. You don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy the view off the deck. There are several tables outside to eat with the view of Millsite State Park on the horizon as you eat at the Lakeview Diner.
Emery County Business Chamber President Jared Anderson presented the Murdochs with a welcome plaque from the business chamber. They offered their help with making the business a success and welcomed the Lakeview Diner as the newest Emery County business.
The phone number is 384-2279.
