Annual Senior Citizen lamb fry lunch

The Annual Emery County Senior Citizen Luncheon was held at the Huntington City Park Sept. 11. The Country Rovers a country western band provided the entertainment before and during the lunch.
Emery County Commissioners supplied the grilled marinated lamb and turkey meat for this lunch. The lunch cooks were Kent and Julie Wilson from BK’s with helpers former Commissioner Bevan Wilson, Willard Tharp, former Commissioner Gary Kofford and Becky Jorgensen. Each of the Senior Citizen Directors and staff members from cities around Emery County assisted in serving the food and drink.
Shawna Horrocks, the Director of the Area Agency on Aging welcomed the seniors and thanked the band for helping every year. She asked for volunteers that would like to help represent Emery County on the Area Agency on Aging Board.
The seniors lunch consisted of lamb fries, marinated turkey, sugared scones, rolls, salads and a host of desserts brought by volunteers. Everyone enjoyed visiting with friends and eating the great food. Many of the seniors came early to enjoy the music before the lunch was served.
