EAST CARBON- Alice “Mae” Tucker Lake, age 88, passed away and joined the love of her life Clyde on Oct. 19, 2015.
Mae was born the second of ten children to Vance and Edna Atwood Tucker. She was raised in Cleveland. Mae met the love of her life at 15 and married Clyde Amer Lake on Nov. 22, 1942 in Castle Dale, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple where they were sealed for time and all eternity on Nov. 22, 1958. Together they had four beautiful children. They were lifelong residents of East Carbon.
Mae was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had many callings including Relief Society President, Primary President and countless others. Mae had a strong testimony of the gospel. Dad and mom raised us with a good work ethic, integrity and honesty. The greatest lesson they left us with is that family is the most important. Grandma Mae was a hard worker, a wonderful cook and baker. She loved to camp and spend time together as a family.
Survived by her children, Linda Merlen, Price, Dennis (Debbie) Lake, Sunnyside, Paula (Gene) Jacquez, Lori (Jim) Stewart, both of East Carbon; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Vard (Pauline) Tucker, California, Edith Anderson, West Valley, Allen (Linda) Tucker, Magna; sisters-in-law, Jesse, Jolene and Lois.
Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Lake; adopted son, James Robertson; parents, Vance and Edna Tucker; brothers, Doug (Emily), Gerald (Dottie), Ben (Beverly), Ted and Van; sister, Doreen (Dale) Christensen; brother-in-law, Andy Anderson; and son- in-law, George Merlen.
Funeral service was held, Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, 1 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. Family received friends at Mitchell’s Thursday evening from 6-7 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cleveland City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Mae online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
