POST and Corrections Graduation

Two Emery County Sheriff’s Office employees finished their requirements. for POST and Corrections. Deputy Egan Smith and Mike Grange have graduated.
To become POST certified they must attend 15 weeks of training and pass tests on the subject matter as well as physical fitness tests. Deputy Mike Grange just completed POST certification.
The Peace Officer Standards Training is done in Salt Lake and the trainees stay at the facility there during their training.
Once the Emery County deputies are POST certified, they are eligible for a raise and can become a parole deputy.
Deputy Egan Smith spent 13 weeks to become Corrections certified. This means he is qualified to work in corrections throughout the state.
