Emery High School junior Logan Labrum was surprised at a school pep rally when he was announced as the statewide winner of a $1,000 grand prize scholarship savings account at Zions Bank.
Thinking he was going in front of the student body to participate in a trivia game, Labrum was instead given the news he won the grand prize by Justin Johansen, Zions Bank Castle Dale Financial Center Manager. Johansen told Labrum he won through the Zions Bank Pays for A’s program, which recognizes and pays local students for their hard-earned grades.
Earlier this year, Labrum brought a report card with “A” grades into Zions Bank’s Castle Dale office and was paid a dollar for every “A” grade he received. Labrum’s name was then randomly selected in a drawing among participants throughout the state.
“It was a pleasure to recognize a student like Logan who excels in his studies,” said Johansen. “We’re proud to partner with teachers and parents to support students earning good grades in school and rewarding them for their hard work.”
