The Emery High Lady Spartans now possess a 1-2 season basketball record after splitting their games last week. After losing the opening game in Richfield to the Wildcats the week before, Emery came home and soundly defeated the South Summit Wildcats by the score of 71-25. The Lady Spartans then went back on the road, although the trip was rather short, and lost to the Carbon High Lady Dinos by the score of 49-36.

Senior Jessica Olsen scored 7 points and sophomore Lainee Jensen added 6 points on two 3-point shots. Camrey Johnson and Kacelyn Toomer each scored 4 points with Abbie Huntington and Bailey Huggard each scoring 2 points. Kinlee Toomer and Bayler Griffin closed out the scoring with 1 point each.

Emery won the second quarter 17-2 with the Wildcats scoring their lone basket with :14.9 seconds left in the period. Emery won quarter three 23-10 with Johnson scoring 9 points to be the leading Spartan scorer. Emery took the final period 12-5 with an all-freshman team on the court.
Johnson led the team in the game against South Summit with 18 points and she also had three steals in the game. The other Spartan starters scored the following; Griffin 8 points, Aniston Curtis 5 points and Olsen 4 points. Others that scored in the game were Kacelyn Toomer with 10 points, Erin Hurst with 9 points, Megan Jensen with 6 points, Morgan Hurdsman with 4 points, Huggard with 3 points, Kinlee with 2 points and Kira Saling with 1 point.
Emery plays just a single game this week and that is a game against North Summit on Tuesday and then next week the Spartan team will play two at home, on Dec. 15 against Delta and then the following night against South Sevier.
