"Pete Peterson"

By By

WELLINGTON-David Raymond Peterson, affectionately known to everyone as “Pete” passed away January 7, 2016 at Pinnacle Care Center in Price at the age of 72.
He was born April 10, 1943 in East Carbon, Utah to Andrew E. and Laura Sue Penny Peterson. Married Rosie DiCaro, June 18, 1977 in Price and they shared many adventures together prior to her passing in 2015.
Pete was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and a staunch supporter of the U.M.W.A. Hiawatha Local # 6363. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Pete was always willing to help anyone in need. He volunteered graciously as a member of the Wellington Fire Department and at the distribution center in Price.
Pete was a man of few words (he just learned early, that what Rosie said was always right). The couple shared many wonderful years together and their paths touched numerous families in the area. Pete worked with various companies and on numerous construction projects. He loved working with his hands and some of his most memorable times were working alongside family and friends on projects at the Hoover Dam, Billie’s Mountain, I-70 and at the coal mine. When Pete wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing his harmonica and reminiscing with family and friends.
Survived by his sisters, Lola (Sam) Mead, Spring Glen, Ardiene (Dale) Norton, Bunnie (Dean) Bradley, both of Wellington; four step-children, Albert DiCaro, Las Vegas, Helen DiCaro, Provo, Anna (Shaun) Ferguson, Minnesota, Bobbi DiCaro, Helper; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rosie; brothers, John T. Wilson and Allen C. “Tim” Peterson.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Symbii Hospice, especially Rick Stockburger and Arrow, and Janice Cook at Pinnacle Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Funeral service, Saturday, January 9, 2016, 1:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. Family will be at Mitchell’s Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Wellington City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Pete online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
