CLEVELAND – Clifton L Carter, age 79 of Cleveland, Utah. Our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend returned to his Heavenly Father and the arms of his loving wife Mickie, February 28, 2016. He was born May 20, 1936 in Provo, Utah to Loyal and Rinda Carter.
He served in the Navy for eight years where he was stationed in California and then shipped out to Japan on the S.S. Hancock. He believed in working hard for everything he had. He had a love for his family and believed they were the greatest thing that ever happened in his life. He enjoyed farming and the smell of the earth. He also enjoyed music and his mom taught him how to play the violin at a very young age. He wanted to be remembered as a good man and the world’s greatest Grandpa.
He is survived by his children: Vickie (Chad) Hansen, Cleveland; Robin Wilson, Salt Lake City, and Chris (Tina) Carter, Cleveland; 10 grandchildren: Heidi, Hank, Lisa, Lesley, Heather, Nick, Natalie, Chyanne, Kaitlyn and Sydney; 14 great-grandchildren: Ashlee, Austin, Aspen, Darrin, Kaelee, Layce, Daezey, Jerzee, Rydge, Ryder, Shaylyn, Quentin, Autumn and Avery; brothers/sisters: LoyDeane (Bill) Wilske, Steve (Carleen) Willson, Colleen (Art) Jones, Linda (Pete) Mottishaw, Carolyn (Dirk) Harris, Stanley (Juanita) Willson; brothers/sisters in laws: Richard and Flora Motte, Lynn and Deloris Nelson. Preceded in death by, Mickie Lyle Carter (wife), Loyal Carter (father), Rinda and Clarence Willson (parents), and Carma Sherman (sister). Thanks to everyone for their prayers and acts of kindness and to CNS Nursing (Ashley, Ava, Jeff).
A viewing will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Cleveland LDS Chapel from 5- 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Cleveland LDS Chapel at 11 a.m. There will be a viewing from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Cleveland Cemetery entrusted to Fausett Mortuary. Friends and family may visit and sign the online guestbook and share memories of Clifton at www.fausettmortuary.com.
