CLEVELAND-Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Don R. Jensen, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home on Feb. 27, 2016 from complications of diabetes and Alzheimer’s.
He was born April 18, 1939 in Huntington, Utah to James William and Nola Sherman Jensen. Married Jo Ann Saddler in Wellington, Utah on June 26, 1959.
Don was a longtime resident of Emery County and a tireless worker who worked as a manager at the Don Carlos Barbeque in Salt Lake, Hill Air Force Base in Clearfield for 12 years and eventually retired from Deer Creek Coal Mine in 2002 with 22 years of dedicated service. Don enjoyed horseback riding, wood working, fishing, hunting, camping, 4-wheeling, sightseeing and rock hunting.
Don was a passionate outdoorsman who enjoyed boating and racing around the lake. He was also an accomplished craftsman who built his own dune buggy. Don was always ready for the next big adventure and he will be sorely missed by his family and a community of friends.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann; children, Don R. Jr. (Mary) Jensen and Christy (LD) Jensen; grandchildren, Andy (Jennie) Jensen, Scott (Holly) Jensen, Eric Jensen (Courtnie), Zachary Jensen (Reita), Jake (Danae) Jensen, Jerica (Matt) Curtis and Jalee (Riley) Farr; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Carter and Kami Jo, Braxton and Trevor, Keeley, Bella, and Lillian, Zuliet, Hayden and Karson, Breklyn, Maycen and Trevin, and baby Farr; and his sister, Sally Timothy.
Preceded in death by his parents, two infant daughters, Julie and Joliene; five brothers, Jerry, Lue, Orson, James and Larry; and one sister, Estella.
A viewing will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at the Cleveland LDS Ward. Graveside service Saturday, March 5, 2016, 12 noon at the Cleveland Town Cemetery. Arrangements under the trusted care of Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Don online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
