Ryan Stream
Ryan Stream has received an excellence in safety award. He was at work when a contractor unloading sulfuric acid at the tank farm acid unloading station suffered severe injuries when he came into contact with sulfuric acid. He was burned over 70 percent of his body.
Ryan Stream and Owen Henke took charge of the injured contractor. Owen preceeded to take his vitals while Ryan kept talking to the individual to keep him aware and from going into shock. They did what they could to warm and comfort the individual by putting their coats on him until blankets were brought from the medical van. Ryan continued to encourage the contractor telling him his injuries could be overcome and he could survive and continue to live a good life.
Ryan was able to get contact information and also took a report of how the accident happened. They were able to provide the vitals information to the ambulance crew coming to the site. Stream and Henke stayed with the contractor until the local ambulance and EMTs arrived and they helped load him into the ambulance.
The MSHA inspectors were very impressed with the professional way the incident was handled and the care given to the injured man.

Stream has earned his excellence in safety award the last two years.
