HUNTINGTON, UTAH- Cheree Anderson Rasmussen, 69, was reunited with her eternal companion April 25, 2016 after being apart for 53 days. She was born Feb. 8, 1947 in Vernal, Utah to Reed and Reva Ann Cook Anderson.
She was raised in Vernal where she enjoyed playing favorite childhood games like “No Bears Are Out Tonight” and “Red Rover”. She wore dresses to school and often would sneak and wear pants underneath so she could play on the tricky bars. She loved meat loaf and baked potatoes and hated the color pink. Cheree’s junior year of High School a handsome athletic boy from Roosevelt moved to Vernal and his locker just happened to be next to hers. Keith began walking her to class and taking her on dates. The two were married Nov. 23, 1966 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. They built a strong marriage – one that Cheree described as getting better and better as the years went on. Cheree was blessed to be the mother of four boys. Her family was her central focus in life. The love of her boys was only exceeded by her love for her nine grandchildren. They were truly a joy and delight to her. Cheree spent over 20 years working as a pharmacy technician at Boyd’s Family Pharmacy. Her career brought her much satisfaction but most of all it gave her cherished life-long friends. We all looked to Cheree as an example of faith, love, and enduring to the end. Her mortal body was weak and diseased most of her adult life. She endured many surgeries including but not limited to a liver transplant, a total colectomy, and a kidney transplant. Her last and final battle was with pancreatic cancer. These trials she bore with astounding strength, trust, faith, and grace. Cheree was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her testimony of Jesus Christ was tender and deep. The past few weeks she expressed her desire for all of her children and grandchildren to be strong in the gospel and be sealed in the temple.
She is survived in death by three sons Kirt (Kristi Rasmussen), Elmo, Utah, Corey (Linda) Rasmussen, Fallon, Nevada, Kelly (Cassie) Rasmussen, Lehi, Utah, nine grandchildren, Janessa, Bailey, Justin, Brett, Dillon, Audrey, RayAnn, Kelcee, and Kaylee.
She was preceded in death by her husband Keith Lynn Rasmussen and an infant son Keith Lynn Rasmussen Jr., parents Reed Anderson and Reva Ann Cook Anderson, and a brother Garn Anderson.
